Entry Level Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic entry‑level accountant to join our finance team in Kamwokya, Kampala. This is a full‑time position where you will support daily accounting operations and gain hands‑on experience in a professional banking and finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ledgers by recording day‑to‑day transactions and ensuring accuracy across balance sheets and income statements.
• Perform reconciliations by cross‑referencing internal records with bank statements and vendor invoices to resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable to sustain healthy cash flow.
• Assist with tax preparation, calculating and filing corporate or individual tax returns.
• Ensure regulatory adherence by following standard accounting principles such as GAAP or IFRS and relevant statutory laws.
• Provide audit support by organizing records for internal and external audits and responding to inquiries.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with a basic understanding of accounting concepts.
• Ability to work accurately with numbers and maintain attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced finance setting.
