ESG & Sustainability Risk Officer

About the role

To proactively identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks arising from environmental, social, and governance factors, while also helping the Bank seize opportunities related to sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously enhance the Bank’s ESG and Sustainability Risk Management Framework, policies and procedures.
• Develop methodologies and tools to identify, assess and quantify ESG risks in lending, investment and operational activities.
• Conduct in‑depth ESG risk assessments and due diligence for new and existing clients, projects and transactions across sectors.
• Monitor the ESG risk profile of the Bank’s loan and investment portfolios, identifying concentration and emerging risks.
• Prepare regular ESG risk reports for senior management, risk committees and the Board, and contribute to external ESG disclosures.
• Stay up‑to‑date with national and international ESG regulations and ensure compliance, supporting regulatory examinations and audits.
• Provide training to relationship managers and credit analysts on ESG risk identification and integration.
• Support climate‑related stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the Bank’s resilience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, finance, economics, business administration, law or related field; ESG certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in risk management, sustainability or corporate social responsibility within financial services, with proven experience developing ESG risk frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
