ESL Teacher (Grades 9‑12) – 2026‑27

About the role

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. The teacher will enable students to develop competencies and skills needed to function successfully in society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements and accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula according to Individual Education Plans.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with parents, principals and colleagues through conferences and professional correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for the subject and grade level.
• Knowledge of the assigned subjects and general curriculum instruction.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and manage classroom behavior.
