ETL Engineer – Data-Activated Architecture for Resilient Transition (DART)

About the role

The ETL Engineer will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines that move approved data from source systems into the National Data Warehouse (NDWH) and other analytics environments for Uganda's Ministry of Health. Working under the Data Engineering Lead and alongside MOH technical teams, the engineer will ensure data is standardized, validated, and available for reporting and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document, and monitor ETL processes that extract, transform, and load data from multiple health information sources.
• Implement data quality checks and validation rules to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and provide production support to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with MOH teams to align data standards, integration requirements, and reporting needs.
• Support the stabilization of the NDWH and contribute to data‑center design and cybersecurity initiatives.

Required profile

• Current work authorization in Uganda (no visa sponsorship available).
• Experience designing and operating ETL pipelines in a data‑warehouse context.
• Familiarity with health‑sector data structures and interoperability standards is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel nationally and regionally as required.
