Excavator Operator – Permanent Position

About the role

The Excavator Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining excavating equipment to carry out earthworks, trenching, grading and related construction tasks. This permanent role supports site engineers and foremen in delivering high‑quality site preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the excavator to dig, load, grade and move earth, rock and other materials according to site plans.
• Perform trenching, back‑filling, site preparation and levelling as required.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct pre‑operational checks and report defects.
• Carry out routine inspections, cleaning and minor maintenance; monitor oil, fuel and fluid levels.
• Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, ground workers and truck drivers; assist with loading and unloading when needed.

Required profile

• Valid national driver’s licence for the appropriate vehicle/machinery class.
• Minimum 7 + years of professional driving and excavator operation experience.
• Valid operating licence for the excavator.
• Knowledge of excavating techniques, soil types and safe working practices.
• Excellent hand‑eye coordination, physical fitness and awareness of site hazards.
