Finance and Administration Manager

About the role

The Finance and Administration Manager provides financial and management support to the Jhpiego Uganda Office, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with donor and organisational policies. This senior position acts as a strategic financial adviser to senior management and leads a team of finance and operations staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor disbursement of project funds, ensuring compliance with Jhpiego financial policies and banking procedures.
• Review high‑threshold payments, prepare QuickBooks monthly reports, conduct bank reconciliations, and submit financial reports to headquarters.
• Oversee donor reporting to entities such as the Department of State and CDC, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist program managers in developing annual operational budgets, reviewing them for accuracy, reasonableness, completeness, and donor compliance.
• Maintain and update financial monitoring tools, including purchase order, airfare, and vehicle logs.
• Review and strengthen internal control systems, identifying weaknesses and recommending corrective actions in line with GAAP and Jhpiego procedures.
• Lead budget development, consolidation, monitoring, and periodic review, providing forecasts and financial insights to senior leadership.
