Finance Manager – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial operations for a unique US Navy program based in Kampala. The role combines strategic financial guidance with day‑to‑day oversight of accounting, budgeting and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting and forecasting to align with program objectives and approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulations, company policies and contractual requirements.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination and month‑end close activities.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and government stakeholders.
• Monitor cash flow, expenditures and revenue to maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.
• Mentor and develop finance staff, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support mission success and financial accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably supporting government or defense contracts.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work onsite in Kampala and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
