Food Safety Support Specialist

About the role

The Food Safety Support role ensures that all food operations comply with hygiene and safety standards while providing training and technical guidance to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate operations to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
• Provide food hygiene training for new hires and trainees and advise on proper food handling practices.
• Identify risk areas in food operations and implement preemptive remedial actions.
• Offer technical advice on product labeling to meet government requirements.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees.
• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or Culinary from an accredited university.
• 2–4 years of related work experience in food safety or a similar field.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to conduct food handling training.
• Risk assessment and remedial action planning.
• Understanding of product labeling regulations.
