Funded Traineeship in Political Press & Information – EU Delegation Uganda

About the role
The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded traineeship for recent graduates interested in international relations and diplomatic work. The placement is within the Political Press and Information Section and provides hands‑on experience on EU‑Uganda cooperation.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on political and development cooperation between the EU and Uganda.
- Assist in drafting analytical reports, briefings and other written products.
- Support data coordination and consolidation of inputs from EU Member States.
- Help organise events and provide logistical support.
- Attend meetings, take notes and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Contribute to youth‑engagement initiatives and communication activities.
- Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
- Very good command of spoken and written English.
- Residency in Uganda at the time of application.
- Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
- Strong motivation, initiative and ability to work in a multicultural team.
- Interest in international relations, development cooperation and the Ugandan institutional context.
