About the role
The Governance & Regulatory Affairs Officer will support the bank’s compliance governance and risk management framework. This role ensures that regulatory requirements and internal policies are identified, monitored and embedded across the organisation, promoting a strong culture of compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Collate and submit compliance reporting packs to governance bodies and draft reports for committees and regulators.
- Monitor regulatory changes, conduct gap assessments and communicate impacts to embed necessary controls.
- Update compliance policies, frameworks and the policy register to reflect current obligations.
- Develop and deliver mandatory compliance training and bespoke face‑to‑face sessions.
- Maintain the Regulatory Engagement Plan, track regulator communications and manage the regulatory obligations tracker.
- Perform gap analyses and impact assessments for new laws, ensuring appropriate controls are designed and implemented.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
- 3–4 years proven experience in compliance, legal or corporate governance within the banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulatory requirements and emerging developments.
- Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
