Hazardous Waste Supervisor

About the role

The Hazardous Waste Supervisor leads a team responsible for the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and solid waste at Amentum’s Kampala site. The role ensures compliance with contract specifications, host‑installation regulations, and all relevant environmental and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Train and mentor personnel on hazardous waste accumulation, storage, and disposal procedures.
• Implement and monitor ground safety programs to meet contract and host‑base requirements.
• Conduct safety inspections and ISO audits in accordance with SOPs.
• Provide OSHA and HAZMAT briefings, including Employee Right‑to‑Know communications.
• Collect, label, package, and ship contractor‑generated HAZWASTE in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate MSDS databases and ensure proper documentation for all hazardous materials.
• Identify safety discrepancies, issue on‑the‑spot corrections, and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years (48 months) of experience in hazardous waste management or related environmental safety roles.
• Mid‑level professional with proven ability to supervise teams and enforce compliance.
• Familiarity with OSHA general industry standards, HAZMAT regulations, and ISO inspection processes.
• Experience supporting MSDS programs and conducting safety briefings.
