Human Resource Manager – Kampala

About the role

The International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Human Resource Manager to lead HR strategy and operations for its Kampala office. This senior role will align local HR practices with global standards while ensuring compliance with Ugandan labor law.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse workforce trends, HR metrics and organisational needs to guide strategic planning.
• Design and implement HR policies, systems and processes that meet global standards and local regulations.
• Partner with leadership and line managers to drive staff engagement, performance and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Deliver training on HR policies, procedures and development programmes to build capacity and ensure compliance.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and staff care to provide timely, high‑quality HR services.

Required profile

• Graduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least ten years of HR experience, including three years in senior management.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive strategic HR initiatives.
• Strong analytical, planning and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and training abilities, with a focus on confidentiality and service excellence.
