Import Export Supervisor

About the role

The Import Export Supervisor will lead the Uganda Import & Export Department, ensuring smooth trade operations as the factory scales. This senior position combines operational oversight, process improvement, and compliance management to support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily import and export activities, planning, assigning, and monitoring tasks to meet production schedules.
• Develop, implement, and continuously refine SOPs for trade and customs processes.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate the Import & Export team, fostering skill development and high performance.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Production, and Sales to align logistics priorities.
• Liaise with customs authorities, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely clearance.
• Oversee complex customs documentation, resolve discrepancies, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Manage factory import/export projects, monitor timelines, identify risks, and apply corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in import/export or international trade logistics.
• Proven leadership experience managing a logistics or trade team.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and trade documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement SOPs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
