Infrastructure Support Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Support Specialist to manage and maintain our country‑wide IT infrastructure, including virtual and physical servers, storage and backup systems. The role ensures that all platforms remain secure, stable and performant, supporting the bank’s digital operations across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, install, upgrade, configure and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers as required by dependent services.
• Schedule, execute and review daily backups, maintain backup systems and ensure disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Perform routine maintenance on servers, workstations and network devices to guarantee system stability.
• Support IT system audits, focusing on infrastructure, data storage and cybersecurity risks.
• Monitor resource utilization and performance, and carry out preventive or corrective actions.
• Implement security measures such as access control and server configuration management.
• Track incidents and trends, drive rapid resolution and propose improvements.
• Provide technical support for IT service management processes and adhere to change‑management procedures.
• Assist with system migrations, upgrades, deployments and other IT projects.
• Ensure information‑security guidelines are applied and support business teams in translating requirements into services.
• Supervise end‑user hardware maintenance and perform any additional tasks assigned by department leadership.
• Coordinate testing activities for server changes, review releases and compile testing deliverables.

Required profile

• Proven experience in server and infrastructure support within a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of backup strategies, disaster‑recovery concepts and security best practices.
• Ability to monitor performance metrics and execute preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with IT audit processes and change‑management frameworks.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
