Instructor / Assistant Lecturer – Anatomy (University Faculty)

About the role

The Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery in Uganda seeks a dedicated Instructor/Assistant Lecturer in Anatomy to join its full‑time faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate teaching, research, and the professional development of nursing and midwifery students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate anatomy lectures and practical sessions for nursing and midwifery programmes.
• Engage in research activities and publish findings to advance nursing knowledge.
• Provide mentorship, counselling, and academic support to students.
• Participate in academic administration, curriculum development, and programme planning.
• Maintain active clinical practice and pursue continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Human Anatomy.
• Undergraduate degree in Nursing, Medicine and Surgery, or Biomedical Sciences from a recognised university.
• Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body and a current practising licence where applicable.
• Minimum two years of clinical or teaching experience in a hospital or academic setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of human anatomy.
• Experience in medical or nursing education.
• Ability to integrate clinical practice with academic teaching.
