Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for an Internal Audit Specialist to join its Growth Country Units in Kampala. You will supervise key audits, strengthen operational controls, and partner with senior leaders to improve efficiency, prevent fraud, and protect the organization’s financial health as it scales.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise medium‑complexity audits and management requests with minimal oversight.
• Execute internal audit tests and deliver high‑quality reviews in line with the Internal Audit Methodology.
• Coordinate audit teams to ensure timely delivery of audit and management reports.
• Identify and solve audit‑plan execution challenges, such as rescheduling conflicting audits.
• Support IA OKRs related to the country program.
• Own findings at team‑lead level or grade 2 & 3 and report them to management.
• Work with responsible managers to develop and implement resolutions.
• Follow up regularly to ensure findings are closed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of audit experience.
• At least 3 years using accounting/auditing applications such as SAP or Symbiant.
• 3 years of experience with data‑analytics tools, preferably Power BI.
• Proven ability to write audit findings and reports.
