IT Infrastructure & Security Officer

About the role

The IT Infrastructure & Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the security and stability of AAR Healthcare Uganda’s IT environment. The role designs, implements and supports servers, networks, storage and security solutions while providing technical assistance to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain servers, network devices, storage systems and related infrastructure.
• Design and enforce security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data encryption and endpoint protection.
• Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, respond to incidents and conduct regular security audits.
• Create and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide hardware and software support to employees across all clinics.
• Maintain IT policies, ensure regulatory compliance and deliver security awareness training.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and oversee asset inventory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure and security management.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, CISA or CompTIA Security+.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours and lift equipment up to 50 lb.
