IT Manager

About the role

The IT Manager will lead the design, implementation, administration, monitoring and troubleshooting of Oya Micro Credit’s network and communication systems, including IP phone and data infrastructure, database management and hardware/software maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage the corporate network and IP‑phone system for the call centre.
• Evaluate system performance, monitor operations and conduct regular security checks.
• Administer databases and servers, ensuring availability and optimal performance.
• Configure and maintain Cisco, UniFi and Vigor switches/routers.
• Set up and manage IP‑PBX platforms such as Grandstream, Yeastar and Avaya.
• Maintain computer hardware and software, perform system audits and update software as needed.
• Partner with business units to analyse requirements and develop IT solutions.
• Assess vendors, test new hardware/software and manage the IT budget.
• Oversee digital platform activities, including social media management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an IT manager or analyst.
• University or postgraduate degree in a related field.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and highly analytical.
• Strong organizational skills, grit and a commitment to ethical conduct.
• Well‑connected within Uganda’s technology community.
