Legal Advisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Advisor to support a well‑known dealership group. You will provide comprehensive legal guidance across commercial agreements, litigation, consumer complaints and regulatory matters, ensuring the business operates within legal boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on all legal issues related to supplier and customer agreements, property projects and general business matters.
• Manage civil litigation claims from inception to resolution, including drafting responses, proceedings and particulars of claim/defence.
• Liaise and negotiate with lenders on rates, terms, operating agreements and consumer complaints.
• Identify legal risks, advise on obligations and embed legal input into governance and compliance processes.
• Contribute to the drafting of policies, processes and guidance on legal topics.
• Design and deliver in‑house training on relevant legal subjects.
• Oversee the external legal services provider and ensure effective collaboration.
• Prepare internal and external reports and support the compliance and accounts teams with FCA returns.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or legal professional with solid experience in commercial and civil litigation.
• Proven ability to handle consumer complaint matters and FCA regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills to assess legal risk and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for internal training and external negotiations.
