Marketing Manager

About the role

The Marketing Manager is a contract position based in Kampala with a hybrid work arrangement. The role leads the planning and execution of marketing campaigns that promote YooKatale’s mobile food market, drive user acquisition and increase engagement among household and commercial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns across digital channels.
• Create, review and optimise content for social media, online advertising, SEO/SEM and email/mobile marketing.
• Manage social media accounts and paid advertising initiatives.
• Coordinate promotions with food vendors and strategic partners.
• Track and analyse campaign performance using data and analytics tools.
• Collaborate with product, operations and customer support teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer insights and competitive opportunities.
• Manage marketing budgets, prepare performance reports and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning and brand positioning, preferably in technology, food or marketplace platforms.
• Strong digital marketing expertise, including social media management, online advertising, SEO/SEM basics and email/mobile marketing.
• Excellent copywriting and content creation skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to use data and analytics tools to monitor performance and translate insights into actions.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management, partnership development and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Solid organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Familiarity with the Ugandan market and an interest in food systems or social impact.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
