MEAL Officer – SHINE Project (National)

About the role
The MEAL Officer will lead all Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) activities for the UNICEF SHINE Project in Moroto, Uganda. Working under the MEAL Coordinator, the officer will ensure that project outputs, outcomes and impacts are documented accurately and in line with the MEAL framework.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and operate a functional MEAL framework, tools and processes aligned with ZOA guidelines and UNICEF standards.
- Collect, analyse and report performance data at output, outcome and impact levels.
- Identify information gaps and recommend data collection improvements.
- Produce timely, high‑quality data for project reporting and stakeholder accountability.
- Facilitate learning within the SHINE project and across ZOA by documenting lessons learned.
- Support the project’s goal of improving equitable, inclusive education for children and adolescents in Karamoja.
Required profile
- Experience conducting MEAL activities for UNICEF or similar humanitarian projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, partners and local stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to track progress and measure results.
- Commitment to the mission of supporting vulnerable communities in Uganda.
