MEAL Trainee

About the role

The MEAL Trainee will support the MEAL Officer in implementing monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities at field level, gaining hands‑on experience in data collection, quality assurance and basic analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Support routine field data collection using digital tools such as Kobo Collect.
• Assist in assessments, surveys, post‑distribution monitoring and spot checks.
• Participate in data entry, cleaning, compilation and basic analysis using Excel.
• Help prepare weekly, monthly and activity reports and maintain organized filing systems for MEAL documents.
• Collect and manage beneficiary feedback and complaints through established accountability channels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation or related field.
• At least one year of experience supporting MEAL functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural field environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with mobile data collection tools, preferably Kobo Collect.
