Media Specialist

About the role

The Media Specialist is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Kampala. You will plan, create and manage multimedia content that supports BBLM’s mission, while ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the organization’s faith‑based values.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute media strategies for campaigns and program promotion.
• Coordinate social‑media and new‑media channels, producing videos, graphics and written materials for both online and offline platforms.
• Document field activities and community stories, collaborating with program teams to highlight impact.
• Monitor media performance, conduct audience and market research, and maintain media archives.
• Support events and outreach initiatives, working closely with leadership, partners and volunteers.

Required profile

• Strong media planning and campaign coordination abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with storytelling experience.
• Knowledge of marketing principles and experience in outreach or advocacy.
• Familiarity with new‑media platforms and basic content creation for digital channels.
• Commitment to working with vulnerable and refugee communities and alignment with BBLM’s values.
• Relevant education or training in communications.
