Medical Microbiology & Pathophysiology Teacher (Grades 9-12)

About the role

Provide students in grades 9‑12 with engaging learning activities in Medical Microbiology, Pathophysiology and related health sciences. The teacher will foster intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth while preparing students for industry certification exams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction for assigned classes at scheduled times and locations, adapting lessons to individual student needs.
• Develop, implement and continuously refine curriculum plans, preparing lesson materials and assessments.
• Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, maintain records and report cards.
• Manage classroom discipline, learning time and extracurricular activities in accordance with district policies.
• Coordinate with staff to plan instructional goals and select instructional materials.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet diverse learner needs.
• Provide extended hour opportunities for students to meet certification requirements.
• Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees and professional development programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for the subject and grade level.
• Endorsements in Health Science, Life Science, Biology or related fields as applicable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel between district locations as needed.
