National AMR Technical Coordinator – Uganda

About the role

The National Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Technical Coordinator will lead Uganda’s contribution to the Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa Programme Phase 2 (TDDAP2). Reporting to Palladium’s programme team, the coordinator will ensure effective implementation of AMR activities during the final project year (2026‑2027).

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, rollout and monitoring of AMR governance and ownership mechanisms at national level.
• Strengthen surveillance, reporting and laboratory systems using a One Health, climate‑informed approach.
• Coordinate technical assistance with the Ugandan government, implementing partners and regional stakeholders.
• Produce progress reports, data analyses and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Ensure gender equity and social inclusion are embedded in all AMR interventions.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 12 years) in public health, AMR, or related technical assistance programmes.
• Proven track record of working with national governments and multi‑sectoral partners.
• Deep understanding of national action plans for health security and One Health principles.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
