PE Teacher (Grades 7-8) – 2026-27

About the role

Provide students in grades 7‑8 with engaging physical education experiences that support their intellectual, emotional, physical and social development. The teacher will design and deliver lessons that help students build the competencies needed to succeed in society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Texas Education Agency standards and district curriculum, adapting instruction for diverse learning styles.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal testing, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Maintain a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff through conferences and meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.
• Strong knowledge of the assigned subjects and curriculum standards.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and manage student behavior effectively.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
