Primary Teacher (Lower Primary, P.3)

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Lower Primary Teacher (P.3) to join its team in Kamwokya, Kampala. The role involves delivering the national curriculum to young learners, fostering a safe and stimulating classroom environment, and supporting the school’s holistic development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement termly schemes of work and daily lesson plans aligned with the Ministry of Education curriculum.
• Create low‑cost, locally sourced teaching aids to make abstract concepts concrete.
• Manage classroom behaviour using positive discipline, counseling and regular monitoring.
• Conduct daily inspections of pupils’ personal hygiene, uniform and grooming standards.
• Model personal smartness and professional dress to set an example for students.
• Take on delegated leadership duties such as Teacher on Duty, extracurricular patron, and club coordination.
• Organise, coach and supervise co‑curricular activities including music, dance, drama, sports and clubs.
• Prepare pupils for internal and external competitions, sports days and community events.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification in education or related field.
• At least one month of teaching experience or relevant practicum.
• Commitment to the Ministry of Education’s ban on corporal punishment.
• Ability to promote discipline, morals and values through positive reinforcement.
• Willingness to maintain high standards of personal hygiene and smartness.
