Procurement and Logistics Officer – Uganda

About the role
GAIN is looking for a Procurement and Logistics Officer to manage the day‑to‑day acquisition of goods and services for its Uganda Country Office. The role ensures that procurement processes are efficient, compliant with organisational policies, donor requirements and Ugandan regulations, supporting effective programme delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the procurement focal point, coordinating purchases, consultancy contracts and services in line with policy and donor rules.
- Provide procurement input for project proposals, estimating requirements, lead times and costs.
- Maintain procurement plans, track requests and monitor timelines for programme and operational teams.
- Prepare and manage procurement documents such as RFQs, tender packages, bid evaluations, purchase orders and contracts.
- Arrange transport for personnel, goods and services and oversee loading, dispatch and receipt of shipments.
- Facilitate customs clearance by liaising with agents, government authorities and internal stakeholders, including duty exemption processing.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement and logistics within a structured organisation, preferably non‑profit.
- Familiarity with international donor procurement rules and regulations.
- Professional certification in procurement, logistics or supply chain is an advantage.

What we offer
- Gross annual salary between UGX 44,256,588 and UGX 50,702,928, based on experience.
- Fixed‑term one‑year contract with potential extension subject to funding.
