About the role
The Project Assistant will support the Strengthening Transferable Skills, Resilience and Inclusive Development in Education and TVET across multiple districts in Uganda, reporting to the Project Officer – Education. The role involves planning, coordinating and monitoring education‑related activities at sub‑county and district levels.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate sub‑county and district project activities in consultation with the Project Officer, CCT, tutors and DEOs.
- Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions for teachers, literacy volunteers and community volunteers.
- Track activity budgets, ensure timely and cost‑effective implementation, and produce accurate reports.
- Conduct capacity‑needs assessments, develop and deliver capacity‑building plans for teachers and volunteers.
- Support school improvement plans, mentor teachers, and facilitate peer‑learning networks.
- Document children’s vulnerabilities, impact stories and good practices for reporting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (primary focus preferred).
- Minimum 3 years experience in education management and 2 years in community engagement.
- Computer literate with strong writing and reporting abilities.
- Ability to communicate in relevant local languages and a valid riding licence.
- Commitment to Christian values and high integrity.
