Project Coordinator – Green Resilient Enterprise (NGO)

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the 28‑month GREEN Project, a market‑based initiative to strengthen non‑timber forest product enterprises across Eastern Uganda. Reporting to the Programmes Director, the role ensures delivery on time, within budget and to donor standards while coordinating multiple partners and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and technical leadership for the GREEN Project, aligning activities with the logical framework, work plan and budget.
• Manage programme implementation, translating the approved action into detailed annual, quarterly and monthly plans and monitoring critical milestones.
• Serve as GOAL’s principal operational focal point with AICS, organising progress meetings, reporting and compliance reviews.
• Oversee partnership and consortium arrangements, including due‑diligence, performance management and financial compliance of sub‑grantees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture, NTFP or market‑development programming, with at least 5 years at senior technical level.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑partner projects, preferably EU‑funded, and familiarity with AICS/EU grant requirements.
• Strong people‑management skills, including supervision, coaching and collaborative leadership of multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in market systems development, MSME/enterprise development, value‑chain analysis and access to finance.
• Project financial management and procurement oversight, including budgeting, forecasting and audit readiness.
• Experience linking economic development with climate‑smart forestry, agroforestry or natural‑resource outcomes.
