Project Coordinator – WASH (OCHA) – Uganda

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the planning and implementation of WASH activities in one of the refugee settlements (Kiryandongo, Palorinya or Rhino Camp) under an OCHA‑funded humanitarian project. The role ensures safe water supply and sanitation services while supporting emergency preparedness and response.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day planning and implementation of WASH activities in the assigned refugee settlement.
• Monitor progress, ensure compliance with ZOA, donor and Ugandan government requirements, and produce regular reports and success stories.
• Support procurement, oversee technical visits, and manage hygiene promoters to meet weekly and monthly targets.

Required profile

• University degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental or Public Health.
• Minimum 4 years experience in WASH, preferably in humanitarian or refugee‑camp settings.
• Experience working with local partners, OCHA or similar emergency projects is desired.

Required skills

• ArcGIS and SPSS data analysis.
• Engineering software: WaterCAD, EPANET, AutoCAD.
• Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Valid motorcycle riding licence.
