Project Procurement Engineer

About the role

Huawei Uganda is looking for a skilled Project Procurement Engineer to manage procurement activities for logistics projects. The role involves sourcing suppliers, qualifying them, and ensuring procurement processes align with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Search for supplier resources across all administrative service categories and build a supplier resource pool.
• Qualify suppliers for key categories based on business needs and company standards.
• Manage daily logistics procurement projects, develop procurement strategies, and produce related reports.
• Select suppliers according to defined strategies and document the selection process.
• Prepare procurement contracts, oversee contract review, signing, handover, and archiving.
• Conduct routine supplier management and collaborate with business units to implement incentive and penalty regulations.
• Maintain the procurement cost baseline for each category and keep the resource map up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and supply‑chain functions.
• Understanding of general procurement sourcing strategies and supplier selection processes.
• Basic knowledge of supply‑chain management, tax regulations, and financial/cost analysis.
