Quality Manager

About the role

The Quality Manager will lead the development and implementation of quality management strategies, standards and systems that support SGS’s strategic objectives in Uganda. This role ensures compliance with accreditation requirements, drives continuous improvement and promotes a culture of high‑level customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality management strategies, standards, policies and systems supporting SGS’s strategic aims.
• Oversee acquisition and maintenance of accreditations such as SANAS and ISO, ensuring compliance with external bodies.
• Control the creation, modification, coding, review and approval of quality documentation and ensure its effective distribution.
• Manage internal audits, follow‑up on recommendations and produce quarterly quality reports.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in quality management or senior inspection roles.
• Proven leadership abilities and capacity to work autonomously.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using LIMS applications and handling large databases.
• Knowledge of QHSE standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
