Regional Senior Research Officer – East & Southeast Africa

About the role

The Regional Senior Research Officer will join IMPACT Initiatives' Research Quality Assurance Unit in Kampala, supporting country operations across East and Southeast Africa. The role focuses on ensuring research projects meet IMPACT’s quality, ethics and compliance standards while providing technical guidance and learning support.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor research quality control processes for country teams.
• Provide technical back‑stopping, peer review and learning support throughout the research cycle.
• Ensure compliance with IMPACT’s Research Toolkit and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the HQ Research Quality Assurance Unit and contribute to the organisation’s 2030 Strategic Framework.
• Occasionally travel to partner countries to work directly with research teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in research implementation and quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of research ethics, standards and compliance procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑country teams and provide capacity‑building support.
• Willingness to travel within the East and Southeast Africa region as needed.
