Sales Executive

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking a proactive Sales Executive to drive export and import sales in Kampala, Uganda. The role focuses on acquiring new business, managing key accounts, and meeting defined KPIs within the maritime logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and edit commercial reports.
• Conduct data analysis to generate sales leads.
• Utilize CRM/LMS systems for lead management.
• Secure import and export business, including follow‑up on import manifests and TBL conversions.
• Generate and convert leads with key accounts into customers.
• Coordinate with import and export documentation teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform market research to identify potential clients and trends.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of freight rates and issue work orders accordingly.
• Review and update freight contracts, manage freight discrepancies, and issue Freight Correction Advice (FCA).

• Knowledgeable about shipping and logistics market trends.
• Results‑driven, able to handle high operational pressure and multitasking.
• Team player with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑driven, capable of working with limited supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related field.
• Minimum five years experience in sales or customer service within shipping or logistics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using LMS platforms.
