Sales Manager – Pharmaceutical

About the role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare solutions company in Uganda, is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to accelerate business growth and expand market presence nationwide. The role will focus on key‑account management, new‑business development and achieving ambitious sales targets for pharmaceutical, consumer‑health and medical‑device portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Drive achievement of sales targets across assigned product lines and territories.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to ensure sustainable market growth.
• Manage and grow key accounts within retail pharmacies, clinics, hospitals and institutional clients.
• Lead key‑account management initiatives to maximise retention and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in pharma, OTC and medical‑device sectors.
• Strengthen relationships with distributors and strategic partners.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform sales decisions.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts, performance reports and account reviews.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, marketing and regulatory teams to align execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, Medical Sciences or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with proven success in key‑account management.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and manage large customer portfolios.
• Experience selling to retail, institutional and hospital channels in Uganda.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑building capabilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Ugandan pharmaceutical and healthcare market.
• Expertise in key‑account management and sales strategy.
• Ability to analyse market data and competitor activity.
