Science Teacher IPC Grades 9-12 (2026-27)

About the role

The successful candidate will provide engaging science instruction to students in grades 9‑12, following the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The role focuses on fostering intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth while helping students develop the competencies needed for success in society.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, incorporating accommodations for diverse learning styles.
• Assess student learning through formal and informal testing, using results to adjust instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and coordinate extracurricular activities as approved by the campus principal.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with parents, principals and colleagues through conferences and written updates.
• Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings, and serve on school committees as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for the subject and grade level.
• Strong knowledge of the assigned science subjects and general curriculum standards.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a supportive learning environment.
