About the role

Under the direction of the school principal, the Secondary AVID Teacher will deliver a high‑quality educational program for middle‑school students. The role focuses on using effective instructional and motivational techniques while maintaining a safe, student‑centered environment. The teacher is responsible for delivering instruction that aligns with the district’s mission and the approved curriculum, and for upholding high academic and ethical standards throughout the school community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement curriculum aligned with the district’s mission and approved standards.
• Utilize instructional and motivational strategies to support academic and ethical growth.
• Maintain a safe, caring classroom atmosphere that promotes high academic standards.
• Perform additional duties directly related to the position as required.

Required profile

• California teaching credential authorizing the appropriate grade level and subject.
• English Learner authorization (if not embedded in the credential).
• Three letters of recommendation and a current resume.
• Preference given to current Vacaville Unified School District teachers.
