Senior Android Developer – Kotlin Multiplatform & AI Coding

About the role

We are building a mobile app that blends real‑world interactions with location and proximity technologies, using AI coding tools and autonomous agents to accelerate development. As a senior Android developer you will own the mobile development, deliver reliable software, and help shape our AI‑assisted workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve our Android application using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform, designing shared logic and platform‑specific integrations.
• Implement and troubleshoot GPS, BLE, UWB, NFC and related proximity features, handling permissions, background execution, battery consumption and device variability.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and coding agents for feature implementation, defect investigation, refactoring and testing, and establish robust agentic development workflows.
• Review and validate AI‑generated code for correctness, maintainability, security and performance.
• Test functionality on real devices, resolve issues beyond automated tests, and document technical decisions.
• Mentor a junior developer through pair programming, practical demos and clear explanations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience delivering production Android apps with Kotlin.
• Strong practical expertise in Kotlin Multiplatform, including shared code and platform‑specific boundaries.
• Deep understanding of Android architecture, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, Flow, lifecycle and state management.
• Proven ability to debug across code, APIs and device behavior.
• Extensive use of AI coding tools to ship working software and interest in agentic coding workflows.
• Ability to critically assess AI‑generated solutions and explain implementations.
• Willingness to teach less‑experienced team members patiently and clearly.
• Self‑motivated, clear communicator, able to work independently in a remote team.
