Senior Associate, Accountant

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking a Senior Associate, Accountant to lead financial control, reporting and systems across its global operations. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will ensure the integrity of accounting records, provide timely financial insights and act as a liaison between field and country‑based projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the field finance team, setting performance standards and addressing capability gaps.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare schedules, and drive resolution of audit findings.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy, including postings, journal entries, donor allocations and documentation controls.
• Support tax planning and ensure timely preparation, review and filing of statutory returns.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for financial support between field sites and country offices.
• Deputize for the Manager, Finance as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control, reporting and audit coordination.
• Strong understanding of general ledger management and donor allocation processes.
• Experience with tax and statutory compliance in a multi‑country environment.
• Ability to supervise, mentor and develop finance staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
