Senior Cashier

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cashier to manage cash handling operations at our Kampala location. The role combines accurate financial processing with high‑level customer service, ensuring compliance with Navy MWR standards and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cash, checks, and other payment forms, verify eligibility, and process transactions.
• Bag and deposit cash and equivalents together with the Daily Activity Report in the MWR central cashier’s night depository or Central Cashier cage.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions to meet accounting and reporting standards.
• Ensure all cash handling and deposit activities comply with CNICINST 1710.3 Chapter 1 Section 114 and Government‑approved procedures.
• Perform routine checks on daily transactions to verify accuracy and compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service in English, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns professionally.
• Train in hazardous‑material handling and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of cashiering experience, preferably in a supervisory or senior role.
• Proficiency in handling financial transactions and completing necessary records and reports.
• Completion of required training and certifications (Customer Service, CPR, First Aid) with annual recertification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to obtain necessary visas and facility credentials.
