Senior Global Programs Director

About the role

The Senior Global Programs Director provides strategic leadership, oversight, and support to Spark’s Country Directors, ensuring high‑quality, nationally scalable, and financially sustainable program delivery across all operating countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead national‑scale programs through policy adoption, financing, and rollout in Rwanda, Malawi, Ghana, Uganda and potentially other countries.
• Maintain and cultivate top‑level relationships with national governments to support program adoption, financing and execution.
• Secure in‑country financing from governments, the World Bank, bilateral partners and co‑financing arrangements.
• Develop and implement programmatic strategy aligned with Spark Microgrants’ mission and goals.
• Oversee design and execution of all programmatic activities to ensure impact, quality and scalability.
• Provide strategic direction and support to Country Directors to enhance country‑specific strategies and operations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in international development and multi‑country program oversight.
• Proven track record in government relations and securing financing from public and multilateral sources.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage complex operations.
• Strong strategic thinking with a focus on scaling impact sustainably.
