Senior Officer Data Approver

About the role

DFCU Bank is seeking a Senior Officer – Data Approver to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of customer data while maintaining compliance with banking policies, AML/KYC requirements, and regulatory standards. The role supports efficient account services and enhances operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve customer information, including account openings, amendments, dormant accounts, and unclaimed balances, within agreed service levels.
• Perform due diligence on customer mandates, signature cards, account instructions, and amendments.
• Liaise with branches, Compliance, Credit, and other stakeholders to implement corrective actions and compliance recommendations.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues relating to unclaimed balances.
• Respond to customer queries within agreed turnaround times.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Escalate operational risks and incidents in line with the bank's reporting policies.
• Monitor and report suspicious transactions in accordance with AML/CFT/KYC regulations.
• Train and mentor banking staff on account services, data quality, compliance standards, and operational controls.
• Participate in projects aimed at improving data integrity and compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in banking operations.
• Strong understanding of banking procedures, AML/KYC regulations, and operational guidelines.
• Excellent analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
