Senior Planner

About the role

McDermott is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to lead schedule analysis and planning activities for marine scope installation projects in the oil and gas sector. The role involves applying best‑practice scheduling discipline, mentoring junior planners, and ensuring projects stay on track against baseline plans.

Key responsibilities

• Perform schedule analysis using Primavera P6, Deltek Fuse & Risk, and Microsoft Project.
• Create and support project baselines during initiation and setup phases.
• Facilitate multi‑discipline scope reviews and develop level 3/4 activity schedules for pipelines, subsea, platforms, and HDD projects.
• Produce workforce histograms, progress curves, and quantity curves linked to schedules.
• Maintain and review the sequence of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, hook‑up, and commissioning to control critical path.
• Identify and accelerate operations causing delays, assess recovery actions, and monitor schedule compliance.
• Mentor junior planners and provide guidance on scheduling best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Business Management or equivalent technical training.
• Extensive experience in project scheduling for oil and gas or large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven ability to solve complex scheduling problems and improve planning processes.
