Senior Specialist - Cyber Crime

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Cyber Crime will lead internal investigations, analyse digital and financial evidence, and support incident response across MTN’s operations. The role combines forensic data handling, fraud detection and collaboration with legal and law‑enforcement teams to protect the organisation from cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, preserve and analyse digital evidence ensuring chain‑of‑custody compliance.
• Conduct forensic investigations using specialised tools and data‑analytics techniques.
• Detect and investigate suspicious financial, operational or cyber activities, tracing fund flows.
• Prepare detailed investigative reports and, when required, provide expert testimony.
• Collaborate with law‑enforcement, legal, and internal stakeholders throughout investigations.
• Continuously assess MTN’s cloud architecture, applications and APIs for exploitable vulnerabilities.
• Stay current with forensic methodologies, tools and industry trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital forensics, cyber‑crime investigations or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and testimony.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards such as ACFE.

Required skills

• SQL scripting for data extraction and analysis.
• ACL (Audit Command Language) for data analytics.
• Use of forensic software tools for evidence recovery.
