Senior Specialist - Cyber Crime

About the role

MTN Uganda Limited is seeking a Senior Specialist in Cyber Crime to lead internal investigations, analyse digital and physical evidence, and provide actionable recommendations to protect the business. The role operates under professional standards such as ACFE and collaborates closely with legal, law‑enforcement and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, preserve and store digital evidence while maintaining chain‑of‑custody.
• Conduct forensic analysis using specialised tools to uncover, interpret and report on digital artefacts.
• Support incident response activities and detect emerging threats across the MTN cloud and telecom ecosystem.
• Prepare detailed forensic reports and deliver expert testimony in legal proceedings.
• Coordinate with law‑enforcement, legal counsel and internal stakeholders to drive investigations.
• Continuously monitor and assess cloud architecture, APIs and applications for exploitable vulnerabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital forensics, cyber‑crime investigations or related security fields.
• Familiarity with ACFE or equivalent investigative standards.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and testimony.

Required skills

• SQL scripting for data extraction and analysis.
• ACL (audit data analytics) tool proficiency.
• Use of forensic analysis software and digital evidence handling tools.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, API security and telecom environments.
