Ship's Store Customer Services Manager

About the role

The Ship's Store Customer Services Manager will lead the daily operations of the ship’s store supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure a high‑quality, courteous experience for patrons while maintaining strict compliance with all policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day customer service activities, guaranteeing smooth and efficient store operations.
• Deliver proactive, polite, and professional service that meets or exceeds patron expectations.
• Resolve customer complaints calmly and efficiently, and track feedback for continuous improvement.
• Lead, train, mentor and schedule the customer service team, conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain compliance with company and governmental policies, including inventory control, cash handling and transaction reporting.
• Prepare and submit accurate records, registers and reports on service activities to management.
• Perform additional duties as required to support store objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience supervising a customer service or retail team.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities with a focus on team development.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the capacity to handle complaints professionally.
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with operational policies.
• Ability to work on‑site in a remote environment and adapt to a military‑supported setting.
