Social Services Specialist – Trauma-Informed Care

About the role

International Justice Mission is seeking a Social Services Specialist to lead trauma‑informed, survivor‑centered initiatives in Kampala. The role will guide the design and delivery of programs that improve access to justice and restorative services for victims of violence.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and advise on trauma‑informed care practices and survivor empowerment strategies.
• Design and oversee training, advocacy, and community‑engagement initiatives for victims of violence.
• Identify, build, and sustain strategic partnerships with government, civil society, and survivor networks.
• Conduct and supervise field‑level interventions and capacity‑building activities to reduce barriers to justice.
• Monitor program performance and recommend improvements based on data and stakeholder feedback.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in trauma‑informed care and survivor‑centered approaches.
• Strong facilitation and training abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for sensitive engagement.
• Organizational and analytical capabilities to oversee project implementation and monitoring.
