Solution Architect – IT Operations

About the role

The Solution Architect designs and modifies system architecture to meet business needs, gathers requirements, assesses existing platforms, identifies gaps and works closely with group architects to align OpCo solutions with MTN Group mandates.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve application software solutions that comply with MTN Group technology, security and enterprise architecture standards.
• Gather functional specifications, perform fit‑gap analysis and create visual depictions of solution components.
• Collaborate with Group Fintech, MTN Group Technology and GSM OpCo teams to ensure consistent implementation across platforms.
• Participate in the selection of technology stacks, frameworks and platforms for new solutions.
• Execute OpCo‑wide transformation initiatives and support risk mitigation, SLA and KPI evaluation.
• Communicate complex technical requirements to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to development teams to ensure solutions adhere to architectural standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology or a related field (post‑graduate qualification is a plus).
• 2–3 years of experience in solution architecture, preferably within fintech, banking or mobile‑money environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise, data and security architecture disciplines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and predictive/propensity modelling concepts.
• Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.
