Special Education Teacher – Special Day Class

About the role

Special Education Teachers in the Special Day Class provide direct instruction and coordinate instructional programs for students with exceptional needs, ensuring compliance with state education code requirements. The position reports to the Director of Special Education and the site administrator and is scheduled for the 2026‑27 academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a basic core curriculum tailored for learning‑handicapped students.
• Provide individualized instruction aligned with state standards.
• Collaborate with the site administrator to develop and adjust curricula.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress reports, using allocated release days for assessment and report writing.

Required profile

• Valid Special Education Credential authorizing Mild/Moderate and English Learner.
• Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Mild/Moderate.
• Submit credential copy, resume, and three letters of recommendation.
• Preference given to Vacaville Unified School District teachers.
